Local attractions and activities

Walking: There is direct access from the site onto paths leading up to Froswick and onto High Street. A lower level walk with
stunning views over Lake Windermere and Grasmere is over
Wansfell to Ambleside via the spectacular Stockghyll Force waterfall. Easier walks can be taken up the valley floor.

Eating: As well as the Haybarn Inn, superb food can be found 1/2 mile in Troutbeck village at both the Mortal Man Hotel and the Queens Head both of which have excellent reputations as well as a selection of real ales.

Pony Trekking, Golf, Sailing, Water Sports are all catered for locally. Mountain Bikers + Fellrunners will be in their elements. Mountain and Road bikes can be hired from several local places and there are excellent bike shops in Ambleside and Staveley nearby.

Historic Houses, National Trust Houses and Gardens, Boat trips on the Lakes on the famous Steamers, Garden Centres, Shops, Cinemas, Museums, the award winning Rheged Centre, to name but a few of the options for
either sunny or rainy days

Fishing: Anglers will find Dubbs reservoir a short walk from the park and permits can be bought locally. There are also countless other places to keep anglers happy.
